January Prayer

 Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for bringing us to the start of a brand-new year. Thank You. We commit this January in Your hands. We pray that You will equip us with Your peace. May Your peace guard our hearts and minds as we trust in You. We give You all of our anxieties, our worries, our fears. We give You all of our aspirations, our goals, and desires. Help us to delight ourselves in You so that our desires will be aligned with Yours. Please grant us vision and direction. Help us to sing with gratitude. Help us please to remember that You are in control. I pray
that You will fill January with a fresh revelation of who You are. Help us to be reminded of Your character, that You are good and do only good. Help us to know our identity in Christ. Please fill us with Your love. Strengthen us when we get weary. Please go before us. Please help us to cling to You. I pray that we won’t get caught up in perfectionism. Help us to be caught up in Your presence. Help us to want You more than anything. More than any shallow pursuit on earth. I pray that January will find us seeking Your face, gleaning Your wisdom.

 Please help us to be people of integrity and character. Help us to pursue purity. Help us to pursue holiness. Help us to read Your Word and apply it to our lives. Help us not to merely be hearers of the Word but help us to be doers of the Word. Help us to walk in full obedience to You. Please give us discipline and focus. Help us to exercise self-control. Help us to thirst after Your will and Your way. Dear God, please be with us when we get afraid. Your presence drives out fear. Help us to be strong and courageous. Thank you, God, that You are in the business of making all things new. Thank You for with You there is redemption. There is restoration. There is healing. Thank you for the cross. Thank You for Your great love for us.  Help us to always be reminded that we are loved by You. We are treasured by You. You rejoice over us with singing. Thank You. Please bless us, for if You bless us, we will indeed be blessed. Help us to want You more than we want what You offer us. Your presence is enough. Help us to desire to abide with You. Help us to crave Your companionship. Help us to be after Your heart.

Lord, we commit January to You. Do with it as You wish. Help us to be committed to You. Help us to be lost in Your will. Thank You for being the God of new beginnings. Thank You for being sovereign, and nothing surprises You. Help us to trust You. Help us to obey You.
