Contentment
Philippians 4:11 -13
Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how
to be content with whatever I have. I know how to live on almost nothing or
with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation,
whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything through Christ, who
gives me strength.
Lord God,
Teach me contentment. Help me to be satisfied in
You. Teach me to look to You for sustenance. You know when the flowers will
bloom. When the waves of comparison threaten to drown me, help me to be rescued
by the truth. You make everything beautiful in its own time. Help me to be satisfied
in You.
Lord God,
Teach me contentment. Enable me to run to You to fill
my cup. May I never look to the right or the left. Teach me to focus on my own
race. My portion is good. My portion is made for me. Teach me Lord not to rush
ahead of You, wishing I had someone else’s
share. Teach my eyes to gaze upon You, for I will find redemption there.
Lord God,
Teach me contentment. Help me to be a good student.
Teach me how to be content in every season, whether I am full or empty, whether I am blessed with gain or whether I suffer loss. Teach me to be content in suffering, for in it, You are refining me. Teach me to carry my
cross.
Lord God,
Teach me contentment. Help me to operate in Your
strength. Teach me to have joy amid difficult circumstances. Teach
me to delight in You in every season. Please help me to draw from Your living
water whenever I thirst or become weak. Help me to eat from Your table. Help me to
sit at Your feet.
Lord God,
Teach me contentment. I only want to learn from You.
You are the best Teacher. Your wisdom is infinite. Teach me to crawl in Your
arms. Teach me to tell You all my fears, hopes, and dreams. Teach me to
desire You above all else. For only You can satiate me. Teach me to cling to
You when trials appear. Teach me not to fear but to lean on You.
Teach me, Lord God,
For I need to learn that true satisfaction is found in
You.
Teach me contentment.
Amen
