True Beauty

Don’t ever accept the lie that you are not beautiful. Beauty is found through the kind words spoken to uplift the burdened soul. Beauty is found in a smile given to someone whose world is broken by calamity. Beauty is found in a tender caress that comforts and resurrects passion in lifeless hearts. Beauty is all around. It lives within. There was a time when I thought that I wasn't beautiful because I wasn't validated and was teased mercilessly. Even though the scars of the past are still there, buried deep within my consciousness, I now have the wisdom to know that I am beautiful. My beauty is not defined by my external appearance. It doesn't matter how much I weigh, or the texture and length of my hair. It doesn't matter if my skin is flawless or decorated with pimples. I know I am beautiful because my Creator says I am.”I will praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” Psalm 139:14. He always tells the truth. 

Even though there are times when I feel self-conscious, I will rest upon what I know not my feelings. Feelings are like the wind, they come and they go. External beauty will fade. We will get old. Things will start to head south and we will lose adornments like hair and teeth. Character however grows with time. Character will last for eternity. It is amazing to feel confident in how you look. It is amazing to buy an outfit and feel beautiful. Beauty shouldn't stop there though. True Beauty penetrates the heart and travels deep into the soul of an individual. There is hope for the insecure,  who are forgotten by society because they don’t fit into the small box that defines beauty. You are BEAUTIFUL, so precious, gorgeous, and attractive. You are special, amazing, and wondrous. This fact is true not because I proclaim it but because God does.

 When you enter into a relationship with God through Christ, His character envelopes yours and His love shines on you making you radiant. True Beauty is found when someone who feels alone is comforted by someone who understands their pain. True beauty is found in unconditional love. Beauty is not limited by the external appearance. God isn't interested in that.”Man looks at the outward appearance but the Lord looks at the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7.  It is the heart that matters.  If someone is physically attractive but their character is deformed that person becomes unattractive. Character is an agent that produces true beauty. Beauty is found in God. God is beautiful. His love is beautiful. His character is flawless and immaculate. His creative power is matchless. There is none like Him. If you ever feel insecure, and unwanted, rest in the arms of the Creator of the Universe because He loves you and accepts you for who you are. Don’t ever eat the lies of insecurity. Feed your mind and heart with truth. The truth is that you are loved by God and that love makes you beautiful.
